Pink Floyd Live in Italy, 1971

This four‑disc collection presents Pink Floyd at a pivotal moment in their evolution, recorded live at the Palazzo delle Manifestazioni Artistiche in Brescia on 19 June 1971.

The first double album delivers a raw, atmospheric take on the Atom Heart Mother suite, played without orchestral support, followed by intense versions of Careful with That Axe, Eugene and Fat Old Sun. The mood deepens on Embryo, its eerie textures filling the final side.

The second volume unveils an early, exploratory performance of Echoes—then known as The Return of the Son of Nothing—before moving through a trio of early Floyd classics: Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, A Saucerful of Secrets, and Cymbaline. A free‑flowing blues jam closes the set, highlighting the band’s improvisational brilliance.
